"I got one of your carbon Greenland storm paddles..it's so stowable and accessible that it will always be there as a spare whatever I'm paddling. The carbon/epoxy makes a nice surface-very smooth, and yet "sticky" under pressure, not slippery." Robert
"The paddles are superb! The weight, balance and action in the water are all very good. We are very glad to have purchased such well made and easily handled paddles." Al M.
"I thought I was nuts to spend $400 on a paddle. Today, I am glad I did. Beautiful in the water, superb weight, and provides great Greenland help for sculls and rolls. Thank you!" Jeff N.
"The constuction and symmetry is excellent... bears the closest resemblance to traditional Greenland paddles of anything I tested. The proportions of the shaft.. are comfortable and hand filling, and give the user a clear sense of blade orientation by feel along.. The transition between shaft and blade is excellent. Superior Kayaks has interpreted this important feature more accurately than anyone else has....its shape made it my favorite...." Sea Kayaker June 1999
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The paddle is absolutely without flaw and the most beautifully handcrafted piece of wood/art that I have seen in years." Maggie K.
"The paddle's 26.3 ounce weight makes it the lightest paddle I've used...It had a very good feel in the hand and a soft touch in the water...It stood up to my hardest slap braces and heavy-handed rolls...it is every bit as stiff and strong as a wooden paddle." Chris C. Sea Kayaker October 2001
"The paddle you crafted for me is magical: the warmth and figuring of the wood, the shape simultaneously simple, yet complex and elegant, its silky feel in the water, the perfect, precise control it gives me. No other kayak paddle I've used seems to be such a natural extension of my body. Thank you!!!" Mark M.
"I got second place with your Hawk SS and carbon/fiber paddle. I'm not a racer I go kayaking to get away from all the (fast) that we have in our lives, but I do enjoy being well ahead of all those euro bladers that were trying to catch me with my greenland paddle..." Warren W.
"The paddle is really cool and well worth the wait" Andrew B.
"I was extremely impressed by the paddle's performance and the speeds I was able to obtain over longer distances with it. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, and wanted to say that you make an exceptional product." Andrew B.
"The paddle has a better foil shape than the wings of my other paddle as I'm not noticing the cavitation I often get when paddling hard..I am able to use higher attack angles. It seemed to have more grip in the water and therefore feels like a faster paddle. It has exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased with it. Thanks" Steve C.
Of course the first lady in black, Freya Hoffmeister, uses a Superior Kayaks all Carbon Fiber Black Greenland paddle too.
Now that's using your head Freya!
(Professional at play. Do not try this at home.)
Greg Stamer ..." I used the 86" and 88" Two Piece Superior Kayaks Carbon Paddles for the trip. The paddles performed extremely well, the two piece joint remained rock-solid at all times, and the paddles are in near-perfect condition (only a few scratches) even after paddling over 1,000 miles. We were paddling headland to headland and encountered some very challenging conditions, including handling dumping surf and large breakers on the south coast. I would certainly have no hesitation to use your paddles again and hope to see others using Greenland paddles for similar trips."...

"The extreme versatility, rigidity (no wiggle joint) and portability of the two-piece paddles with the Lendal Paddlok were a Godsend on my expedition. Newfoundland has a very convoluted shoreline and I surpassed the previous best time by 22 days, mainly by pushing hard and tackling very long and exposed crossings. This added risk and required excellent gear and preparation. The Superior carbon paddles never let me down and are still going stronger than ever. They remain my first choice for long expeditions." Greg Stamer
"..with the exception of about 5 days..I've paddled this trip exclusively using Mark's paddle---it's superb. Today I was in very rough seas (20-30 kts with wave heights 8-10 feet from trough to wave topland) and the paddle has been fantastic. I actually paddle faster and longer with it than my euro... I had to let you know how happy I am with this paddle." Mark Schoon
"I bought one of your Carbon Fiber GP paddles for my 1700 mile solo expedition to Alaska...your paddle performed flawlessly in all kinds of crazy weather and water. It was truly an integral part of my success. In January 2010 I will set out to paddle solo the 3300 mile Atlantic Coast from Key West to Nova Scotia. Once again, your paddle will be with me for the entire trip. Thank you for making me such an outstanding and quality product. I continue to tell everyone what a great and wonderful paddle this is... I am proud to be using your product to help acheive my goals." Glenn Charles
"your paddle was the first Greenland paddle to cross the finish line in this race"" Warren Williamson
"And the paddle is just fantastic.,,The weight is just amazing, and also the power of the strokes. Not to mention doing rolls.I took several rolls and I think the paddle works better than a wood paddle because it floates so well.....I am convinced that U make the world's finest paddles.." Ola L.
"It has been over 8 years since you sent me the Greenland paddle, and I cannot conceive of using my Euro style paddles in open water! I bought the GP in an attempt to prove that the paddle was some stupid fad. Guess what? The stick has elevated my abilities big time. I paddle faster and with less energy expenditure. Turning the boat is a breeze and I can grip the paddle barehanded (and actually prefer that). NEVER in the course of my paddling hobby have I been able to go without gloves without getting blistered...a great design!.... Durability: The Superior Kayak paddle went over 3,100 miles & will exceed 1,000 hours of paddling time in just over a month. Niels K
"I am loving my carbon GP. It is so bouyant and light to hold. I have found I can up my cadence due to the lighter "throw weight"...It is now the paddle I want to use for ALL my paddling!" Mike J.
"I found your paddle a bit heavier and much more solid. Its super quiet in the water and is as smooth a paddle as I have ever had. It looks great, is robust and in a sprint I was able to keep up with a seasoned much younger paddler in a flat-water kayak..Thank you for producing such a fine quality product that is the envy of many of my kayaking buddies and performs so well." Arthur P.
"I don't know if I have ever been happier with the results of a simple purchase. The paddle was so light, so stable in the water and in the hand, and propelled my boat so quickly and efficiently, almost effortlessly. I was estatic. Thank you so much." Dale Y.
"Fantastic paddle and great service, even though it took a while from order to delivery." Christian K
"What a nice thing that paddle is! It ehibits none of the fluttering, diving and assorted other bad behaviors of my other borrowed Greenland paddle." Karl W.
"I was very impressed with the overall quality of the paddle but my true excitement related to the performance of the paddle in the water. I was instantly struck with how smoothly and quietly the paddle moved through the water. I also was amazed how effortless rolling was. I was able to execute several rolls that I previously was either unable to perform or performed with some difficulty. Most exciting was the fact that I was able to effortlessly side scull for the first time. Your carbon fiber paddle is like a magic want. Thank you for making such a great paddle." Michael R.
Even the Great White Sharks like our paddles ........................
" While halfway through my right stroke a Great White with a girth larger than the width of my 22" kayak hit my paddle from behind with such force that slammed me forward to the front of my deck....I stayed very still and slowly extended my paddle to turn towards the group. While turning the boat I looked to my right and there was a Great White approx 15 to 20 feet away from me with its dorsal fin out of the water. Its dorsal fin was large and shredded at the tip. The Great White was moving slowly, turning with my boat, this really caused me to panic and I paddled as fast as I could to the group yelling Great White many times until someone heard me. We all gathered together and paddled in to Dillon's Beach. While on the beach I examined the paddle and there was no bite marks, which I can't explain....I don't know why it didn't bite it and just rammed it. Or why it didn't just go for the boat, it was big enough. Anyways, what a trip to remember." Tony J.
